Preconditions for the photograph

In order to draw a portrait of good quality I need a suitable photo on which the person is shown in a typical and friendly expression. Should more than one person be drawn, a group photo is not necessarily needed as I can integrate separate photographs into one drawing. The better the photograph, the better the drawing since I can only draw what can be seen from the photo. The picture should be sharp, not too small and in an appropriate lighting condition so that all important details are visible. Professional photos of a photographer are very well-suited but self-made photos can meet these conditions as well. Small passport pictures, snapshots, overexposed as well as underexposed and unsharp photos are unsuitable in the majority of cases. If there is still some unsureness about the quality of the photo you can provide me with several photos to choose from.

To have a portrait drawn - Order process

After selection of a well-suited photograph, the desired portrait size and shipping mode, I send a short order confirmation via email with a request to pay the outstanding amount. After receipt of payment I can start with the work. The advance payment is preferably received via paypal. My Terms are applicable to all portrait commissions. It is fully sufficient to send a jpg-file of your photo to portrait@smartart-design.com I print it out myself since this is the fastest and cheapest way and thus no original photos need to be dispatched. The completion of the drawing takes approximately two weeks, then I send you a preview of the finished portrait via email in order to incorporate desired changes and improvements if necessary. After your approval I ship the original to the indicated address.
